Stupid Republican guy at work happy it's going to rain in OH and PA |
|
He says the new people who just registered are not going out to vote in the rain meaning turnout is going to be poor in those two states.
People in OH and PA better show up so I can make fun of this idiot on Wednesday!

Only sissy freepers are afraid of a little rain. And I suppose the folks standing for hours in the broiling Florida sun did so because they are voting for Chimpy? The weather won't matter. Do I smell desperation among the idiots?

2. they put up regular weather reports over in freeperland.... |

rooting for rain and cheering any sign of bad weather. Their election "strategy" now hinges in large part on people being afraid of rain! Gotta figure they smell serious trouble when it gets down to that kind of rooting for vote suppression. Won't work -- people are just to pumped to let a little rain keep them home.

to proceed unimpeded now, would we? That would mean be death of the Republican Party if everyone who wanted to vote was able to do so, AND on top of that, have their vote counted. They make me sick. Totalitarianism needs to die, and die quickly.

Basically they're admitting that the majority of people want Kerry, but they are hoping that the majority vote gets suppressed to allow Bush to win.
HELLO!? That's not Democracy, dumbass.

12. Exactly, what a hypocrite. Then again, most repugs are that. |

The sad fact of the matter is it is most likely true. We had the worst voter turnout for our mayor's race due to rain, as reported by the media.
Have these people not heard of raincoats and umbrellas?

No rain in PA until late in the day (and only a 40% chance until late evening).

|
would want people to NOT vote? Oh... I guess that would be the kind of party that loses when people actually vote. How twisted is that? They sure do love democracy, don't they...?

11. If today in Ohio is any indication ... |
|
It's not going to be inclement enough all day long to keep anybody home. It's around 60 degrees and there are occasional showers, but right now it's just overcast and the ground is wet. If it was cold, or if it was raining steadily, that would be different I think.
Bottom line? Inner city voters usually walk to the polls. Bad weather will discourage them from standing in line for any length of time to vote.
Conventional wisdom would indicate that if it's really bad, they won't, the FReepers are right about that. I very much doubt today's weather would discourage enough people, though.
I gotta be honest with you, though -- if it means standing in line outside a polling place, their tender, spoiled rotten Republican asses are no more likely to put up with the inconvenience. Most of the Republicans I know wouldn't wait. What we've got today wouldn't discourage anybody from either side -- I hope it's no worse than this tomorrow.

16. This is the tactic of a political party |
|
that has lost all legitimacy in this country. Anything that discourages people from voting is good for them.
The sun is setting quickly on the republican party. I won't miss them.
One day left, time to turn it on. GOTV!

PA and Ohio are two states that get some really terrible weather over the course of a year. Anybody who thinks a little rain will stop us is seriously misguided or delusional. A foot of snow wouldn't stop me.

21. Heavy Rain Combined With Cold Keeps Down Turnout |
|
Heavy rain combined with cold temperatures has lowered turnout in the past. However, people are naive to think a light shower is going to stop the thousands of enthusiastic Kerry supporters who I saw yesterday in PA.
