Speaking of all the calls and mailings...
I realize that the effort is needed to keep up enthusiasm and it is comforting to realize that, for once, we have enough money to compete with the pukes,

BUT

1) it is a little annoying and I worry about turning off any voters (my wife actualy told a DNC caller last night that if she got one more call, she would vote for *. She was lying, of course, but she is getting pissed off.)

2) surely, there must be a way to coordinate these efforts so that resources (money and time) is not wasted on those who will vote.

Haven't these people heard of computers?

Responses welcome, and please don't call me Shirley.

1. Yes and no
I do know that I volunteered a little for Kerry here in my town, and while they did have computers, it was very much a shoe string operation (not that the people weren't compatent and dedicated--they were. Just taht they weren't living any sort of life of ease). The money needs to go where it will do the most good, and that means, largely, media buys and getting the candidates and other speakers around the country. Not too much left over to set up the kind of system you are talking about.

More to the point, they might argue that annoying a few on our side might be worth it to ensure that they get to as many people as possible. Frankly, I find the calls annoying, but I'm glad to get them, because that means my neighbors adn others are getting them too. A little inconvience is worth it if we can get rid of President Bush.

2. I think it is illegal to coordinate groups
I've been canvassing with the DNC and ran into Move ON and I think ACT canvassers but I think campaign laws say we have to be completely independent from one another.
