Just got back from shopping at Target. There was a woman on her cell phone, talking frantically and loudly and breathlessly about how she and her husband spent the weekend making calls at the Repub center and how she's going out there RIGHT NOW with a new list and then dropping off leaflets and oh, gotta get more signage and blah blah blah blah. It was 100% PURE PANIC, and it was a joy to watch, frankly. I wanted to tell her to calm down, relax, Michigan is in Kerry's column, but thanks for playing.

I plan to drive seniors to the polls tomorrow, but why do I feel so strangely calm? I feel much calmer than I did in 2000, and that was before I had ever witnessed a coup in broad daylight. I'm excited, and I'm tired of DUers who keep saying "jinx." Fuck jinx. If something rotten does happen, it's not going to be because a Michigan DUer said KERRY LANDSLIDE, ok?
