"SHOULD WE BE PREPARING FOR THE WORST?" - Freepers freak out
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 11:59 AM by GeorgeBushytail
Freepers are bumming over a very encouraging post on National Review Online:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1264902/posts

Here's the link to the NR post with great news for Kerry:
http://www.nationalreview.com/thecorner/corner.asp
(Scroll down)

SHOULD WE BE PREPARING FOR THE WORST?
Talking to a GOPer pollster type this morning, he warns me, "i want to prepare you for a likely Bush loss." He's worried Ohio and Wisconsin are worse than we know because of the economy. And, generally--which is a point multiple people have consistently brought up-the numbers are just so much closer than they should be for an incumbent. (And yes, I know, we have to bear in mind the war, etc.)

I'm not trying to bum you out, to dull GOTV efforts, or anything else. I'm a) just relaying what I'm getting from smart people b) hoping it energizes. This can be won, so go win it and make sure, as the Hugh man says, it's not close, they can't cheat.

This is testosterone-induced blather and nothing more.

You see, this guy has to stand in line at the grocery store with the rest of us - regardless of whether we look like we're liberals or we look like we're right-wingers.

These delusions of some divine political retribution against the liberals is nothing more than a desperate moribund fantasy of people so pressed to cling on to their flimsy beliefs that they don't even realize that their party has abandoned them.

Well, if Ohio and NH are lost (Bush only down one point this mroning in NH and rising), that means we have to make up 24. New Mexico (5), Hawaii (4), Iowa (7) give us 16. If we keep NH, we win.

So he has Bush winning New Mexico, Iowa, New Hampshire, AND Hawaii! Can they feel the imminent spanking? :spank:

and not one of them is remotely along the lines of the FReeps. Yeah, they want Bush to win but they aren't going to pop a fuse and go loco even if Kerry wins in a landslide.

I'm just saying that I expect the majority of Republicans (if Bush loses tomorrow) to go to bed smarting from the spanking that was administered over the election and to wake up and go on with their lives the next day.

The only civil war the few thousand people that make up FR are likely to start is one between themselves over who's hotter between Barbara Olsen or Ann Coulter.

41. Here's the Republican mentality in a nutshell, from the NR link
"If thinking in terms of who the better candidate is doesn't work for you, think of it in terms of which candidate's victory will cause the most happiness among the worst people."

That's what motivates the Republicans? Who they can make unhappy, whose happiness they can deny? They don't care what Bush does or has done, they don't care he can't read or think or stand and fight rather than fleeing like a coward on the day America most needed a leader. All they care about is who they can make unhappy?

They are truly sick people, the likes of which I do not ever want around my children.

To: NotchJohnson
I have a lot of trouble with all the negativity talk. The battleground polling is positive news, and the national polling is looking better as we get past the weekend. We are so close, and it won't take much to have a comfortable electoral college win. The only thing that depresses me is that so many Americans cannot see through Kerry and refuse to back a man who is driven by principles, not polls. Nevertheless, the goal line is in sight. Don't take your eyes off of it.

So . . . no whining. Vote, and take someone with you!
