Ok, I'll finally commit, I'm voting Kucinich. |
|
Not that y'all care or anything but Dennis is my guy.
I promise to be as fair as I can when speaking publically about the other candidates who I, sort of, respect and will support if necessary.
Why? Trade issues and Healthcare. Period.
Frankly I've avoided cesspoo, I mean Primary, 2004 but I thought that I should state aloud what I've been alluding to for weeks, I'm voting for Dennis.

2. Kucinich just OWNS healthcare and trade, and domestic policy in toto |
|
If Dennis makes any dropping-out noise, I will scrounge up some funds to send his way, though I am also leaning towards two other candidates at this time.

4. Sometimes those with anarchistic leanings are slow to commit. |
|
Also, I must admit, that even Dennis is to the far fight of me so it's a tough commitment to make either way.
That and the whole radio gig guides one to be overly non-decisive.
A little secret though....I've goven more to the Kucinich campaign that all others combined...Since September.

10. That's two I know of with anarchistic leanings for Kucinich |
|
The other is Michelle Shocked. She commented at a concert that she was going to be in trouble with her anarchist associates for endorsing him. I should try to find the quote or a link... it was cute. :)
He really does pull people in from all over the spectrum!

And you must live in the south of OH? Because I run into more Kucinich supporters than I do anyone else supporters combined. I live in Cleveland and everyone here knows what an amazing person he is.

Pete Seeger endorsed him, which means DK is just two degrees from Woody. Throw in Studs Terkel's endorsement and you can add labor to health care and trade as defining issues.
Don't forget the war either, a prime reason to support him.

You may have been quieter about the candidates, but generally you put your political ideology out there loud and clear, and Kucinich is the obvious fit.
Welcome to the campaign, Michael! :hi:

the crowd!
This will be my tenth presidential election since I was old enough to vote and registered as a Democrat, but having Dennis in the race has made me feel hopeful for the very first time. All the other candidates in all the other years have never offered me a choice more than a "lesser evil."
As people begin to think seriously about the election, I think more and more will decide Kucinich is the best. There was a time when, in the real world where I live, I dared not say what I thought about political issues because people thought my ideas were too far out. A few months ago, they began saying what I thought a year ago, though they still say that Kucinich is too far left to win. With reality continuing to dawn on them, I think they'll see how much change is needed and be ready to vote Kucinich by Super Tuesday.

Dennis may in fact make a move to the front. The isolation of the voting booth may do it for all of those, "I love Dennis but...", types.
Either way it's hard to justify not voting in the primary for the one candidate closest to my own economifc political beliefs.

21. Dennis owns the Health Care issue in this race |
|
He's even supported by Dr. Patch Adams (who in his book decried UHC, but he sees Dennis as a good start) and Dr. Quentin Young of www.pnhp.org on his side (Young's slogan is "Everybody In, Nobody Out!" (He's Studs Turkel's doctor as well, and they were both at the Chicago Kucinich announcement event).
Welcome to the "Hope Dies Last" group Jan! :D :D :D

30. Kucinich has improved in my eyes |
|
To give a little background, I grew up in Cleveland. I even remember Kucinich's term as mayor. I also remember the city going into default.
When he announced his bid for the White House, I admit rolling my eyes. I was far from impressed.
But I will say this. He has definitely redeemed himself in my eyes. While no Wellstone, he is principled and true to his beliefs. Like CMB, his campaign has helped to improve his political reputation, standing and influence.
And he has effectively run a campaign with little funds, little publicity, and nothing but grass roots support.
I doubt that he will win, but he has shown that he can run an honest, positive campaign. And I hope that he can be a positive force in the federal government for a long time to come.
Dennis Kucinich is really starting to grow on me. Although we don't support the same guy, I applaud your choice.

I've heard many express basically the same thoughts. It's a positive ref;lection on both Dennis and you.
And while I'm not leaning to Clark as a second choice I do like the man and will support him if he should succeed in getting the nomination.
