If Dean or any other Democrat in the race had to run against Teddy Roosevelt, Teddy would coast to victory. Lucky for our side that the GOP will re-nominate Dubya, who is among the least qualified human beings on earth to be a leader.
Dean beats Bush. But moreover, Bush beats Bush, because voters will pull the curtain shut in the booth, scan the ballot, and remember that Dubya and his thugs and fixers lied to Congress, lied to the United Nations, lied and taunted and alienated our allies, attacked a sovereign nation for oil, abandoned Afghanistan, abandoned scientific stem cell research, pandered to the religious nutcases, nominated fascists to judicial posts, and on and on.
Democrats prevail in November.

3. He has what it takes to kick some serious ass |
|
like his unprecedented grass roots support and the wide range of people who support his campaign. There are liberals, conservatives, moderates, young people, elder people, minorites,...it's very broad. I know of Republicans who support the guy and the left will certainly rally around him when/if he wins the nomination.
Damn, I wish this nomination was over with earlier.

4. forgot to add his fund raising potential |
|
Joe Trippi's brilliance is well brilliant. I've never seen such fund-raising. Whenever someone bashes Dean or anything happens that concerns Dean, his supporters donate a few dollars. That happens a lot and he has a huge group of supporters so it really adds up. I predict it will just snowball like no other after the nomination.
I can't wait for the debates in the Fall, and then the sweet victory!

11. Yes, but what a pity that he always chooses to kick the People's ass |
|
No wonder the corporate media did everything they could to boost his numbers back when his year-old campaign and Kucinich's brand new one were both bumping along the bottom in the statistical noise. If they hadn't done that, who knows how things might look right now.

The question isn't if he's electable, the question should be "does Dean excite the moderate Republicans?" That's where Clinton won in the first go around. If he can't pull sane republicans (and yes there are sane republicans) from the fold then we are stuck with the Chimp for another four years.

8. Exactly and I know many Reps that love Dean |
|
Here in NH only dems and indis can vote in the democratic primary. I can't count how many moderate republicans, including former local office holders, have said they wish they had switched to independant in time to vote.
Dean will pull republicans in huge numbers, thats why the Bushies want him out.

10. Dean's probably the only one who can beat the Smirk-in-Chief. |
|
The number one issue is the "war" in Iraq. Dean is seen as the opponent of that ignoble venture into imperialism and he's not afraid of confronting the incoherant boob about it, or anything else.
The four who voted in support of it are hopelessly enmired in the tar of that vote, and unable to justify it.
Kucinich and Sharpton, unfortunately, don't have a realistic chance.
Clark has a lot of baggage that the repugs can use against him; i.e. his republican votes for Reagan (good God) and Nixon.
Dean has, and will, go after the DumbSon without compromise. The others would be, at best, ineffective candidates busily defending themselves instead of attacking.

are the only two who can financially compete with *... initially he's getting trounced by * in polls because most have only seen the inflammatory soundbites from Dean or heard him joked about on late night talk shows..

13. I really hope I'm wrong |
|
The nomination is still Dean's to lose. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think he's saleable candidate. He does seem to have learned a few lessons in Iowa about how negative he can get against fellow Democrats. Hence the dropping of the negative ads. He's probably maxed out the anti-war vote.
Let me clarify that. Almost all of us are anti-war, but I'm definitely not part of the anti-war vote. I'm part of the anti-Bush vote.
