FL Sec. of State office phone is not available!! Help us check this out.
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 12:48 PM by madfloridian
I called Jeb's office, got transferred to Glenda Hood's office....voice said phone service had been "interrupted" is the word they used I believe.

Here we go again. Deja vu all over again. Oh, BTW, Jeb's secretary said she was pretty sure Lepore could make a rule like that. No pics outside the polling place. I am so angry, I need to take a deep breath.

I was calling about Theresa LePore's new rule about photographers. See the link in LBN.

1. Keep this kicked. This happened in 2000.
Katherine Harris's phone was "interrupted" as well, so they did not have to listen to polling problems. Remember that? I do.

Help keep this kicked until we find out WHY the service is "interrupted."

5. Maybe this is why?
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - A suspicious package was reported Monday in the building that houses Florida's Division of Elections, and employees were kept out while the building was searched.

7. Doesn't matter why! She is in charge.
If she can not be reached, then Jeb's office should be in charge.

Got the same message. Kind of funny today is the last day for early vote and the place most people would goto ask where is "offline". Things that make you go hmmmm.

p.s. I called the local elections place to get my local early vote place.

10. The bomb threat was at 6:30 am. It is now 1:00 pm. No excuses.
Don't you guys remember how this happened in 2000?

I am hoping to call attention to this early on, today. Someone MUST be available for voting questions. If not, we have lost our democracy.

18. Thank you
I am alarmed that a very little girlish voice in Jeb's office would say that LePore had such authority, that county officials could do whatever they wanted.

I will try again every few minutes. I hope others will see the danger in her phone being out. Help me keep this up.

Happened in 2000, not this time.

17. yes, in 2000 election officials couldn't check anything because the

phones were down or busy or ringing with no pick ups

19. No excuses. Now line is busy. No more excuses. She is the boss.

She must be available. I just tried it again...busy, leave message. Heck, did anyone tell her election day was coming? Why not prepare for it?

Secretary of State phone number.
850-245-6500

Would not recommend tying it up, though it is important that folks know what is going on.

In 2000, Katherine Harris could NOT be reached in times of crisis. Bush is the result. I shared it at Michael Moore's site, I have others sharing it at other election sites.

She must be available. Not "interrupted" or "busy".
