MSNBC Reveals undecided voters
So my wife just called unhappy (she had MSNBC on) and apparently they had four newly registered undecided voters -- college age. They were going to reveal who they had settled in on. This to show how the country is going, I guess.

So -- ta daaa -- three were going for Bush, and the other Libertarian. So there you have it.

And if you believe these were really undecided . . .

We really, really, must make the media understand that their job is to report the campaign, not be a part of the campaign.

3. Oh I know it doesn't mean anything
My point is that MSNBC thinks it means something -- and one truly wonders where they got these guys.

7. heard it on xm radio MSNBC
3 bushies and a libertarian. give me a break. Why have a free press if you are just going to sell out to the ruling elite? We need the return of equal time and start challenging media licenses.

6. They've been doing these panels for weeks
They're worthless unless you know where each person leans politically or by candidate.

11. Total Baloney
From Carl Sagan's "The Demon Haunted World":

"In addition to teaching us what to do when evaluating a claim to knowledge, any good baloney detection kit must also teach us what NOT to do...Among the fallacies are...

statistics of small numbers - a close relative of observational selection (e.g., "They say 1 out of 5 people is Chinese. How is this possible? I know hundreds of people, and none of them is Chinese. Yours truly." Or: "I've thrown three sevens in a row. Tonignt I can't loose."

In other words, MSNBC has just proven how sloppy journalism is. No scientist or statistician would base anything on a sampling of 4 people. It shows that they're reaching for straws to say anything that will look positive for Bush. If they are saying things as you have said, then they have really stooped to nothing but pure distortion, that has no statistical meaning.
