5. As a block we're staunch Democrats. You'd be surprised how many people
ticked off at * for calling John McCain's adopted child an illegitimate dark skinned child (the child was in fact Bengali).

And though the rest of the Muslims were duped into voting for *, Bengalis stuck with Gore in 2000.

This year, the majority of Muslims are voting for Kerry.

6. that would be funny if this happens in Europe as well
I don't want a bunch of freeptards telling me the world has no voice. Guess what? Gays have had no voice. Poor people have had no voice. Iraqis have had no voice. We Democrats have had no voice.

Just want to say to the world:"We can hear you...the whole world hears you. Pretty soon the terrorist who've taken over our government will here us all!!!!!!"

Vote for the human rights of people here and abroad. Vote John Kerry

7. I've only met two non-Americans for Bush...
A Canadian fundie who didn't know why she supported him (She said "Bush is cool.") and a Lithuanian airhead whose only reasons were "I like him" and "He visited my country". The skank couldn't even spell "Kerry" correctly even though she spoke fluent English.

8. What about the India? Here in the US, it seems the
Indian-Americans are pro Bush (I watch their info news shows on the weekend on the megahertz channel on COMCAST). Also heard the Indian PM Singh is pro Bush. How is this different from the Bangladesh population?

11. Bangladesh is a smaller nation to the east of India. We're predominately
Muslim, a lot poorer (though some areas of India are just as poor).

You'd be surprised, though the government says otherwise, more Indians are behind John Kerry.

12. Not really - I'm Indo-American and most of the ones I know are for Kerry
First-generation Indian-Americans are often socially conservative and economically moderate, but they still tend to vote Democratic because they tend to dislike Republican foreign policy and immigration policies, tend to view Republicans as intolerant (true) and hate the Christian right.

I'm a 19-year-old Indian-American. It could be because I'm at a liberal college, but even so, almost ALL the Indian-American youth I know are strongly anti-Bush. Indian-American youth tend to be very well-educated and culturally open-minded and that naturally leans them against Bush.

Gore got about 70% of the Indian-American vote in 2000. And Indian-American donors are becoming major sources of money for the Democratic Party.

That all being said, Indian-Americans aren't a monolithic group. There are many conservative first-generation Indian-Americans (many of whom are anti-Muslim) who are with Bush over the war on terror, and I expect that Bush may get a slightly larger share of the Indian-American vote this year than he did last time. Also there are SOME second-generation Indian-Americans who are economically conservative and will vote Bush. But on the whole they'll stay with Kerry.

As for Indians in India, it depends. A huge chunk simply isn't informed of American politics. Of the ones who are informed, my own anecdotal experience suggests that the lower middle-class, entrepreneurs, small-business owners who are often less worldly and more anti-Muslim are probably pro-Bush. The upper-middle-class and the intelligentsia along with many of the youth are strongly anti-Bush (most of my family in India is). The business community is probably ambivalent - uncomfortable with Bush but ambivalent about Kerry because of the outsourcing issue.

10. Wow! Just....wow.
I'm amazed and more than a bit humbled by all of the support from around the globe. I know people in Bangladesh have many other worries to occupy their time, but it's heartwarming to see this display of support for John Kerry. Thank you! :hi:
