Back from NC Headquarters. Nice story to share.
A middle-aged man calls up and says he's a Republican, but that this year both he and his lifelong Republican father want to vote for Kerry. His father was in the hospital and no way would be able to vote on election day but his father was insistent, they feared he would try to get up and leave the hospital = what could be done?

Our county chair discussed the matter with the County BOE and they were making arrangements with his son to get him an absentee ballot in his hospital room and filled out and signed before 5 today.

The son was almost in shock over how nice and caring the office was to him and his father, especially since everyone is so busy with last minute electioneering matters.
