When Kerry Wins Tomorrow, will WE Unite to END the WAR??? |
|
Will we give Kerry a Honeymoon period to settle in?
Will we march to satop the slaughter BEFORE the inauguration to slow Bush down?
Will Kerry and Bush meet to decide how to transition and will there be a transition to Kerry wi5thdrawing the troops.
HOW will we handle the crisis in Iraq the day AFTER Kerry wins?
Because we need to have a plan.
What do YOU think?

1. Let's put it this way - if Bush won tomorrow, do you think |
|
the DU community would "unite" with him? - President Kerry is going to have to walk alone for a while

2. Let's see what he does... |
|
and then if he isn't doing the right things, start a major letter-writing campaign, followed, if necessary, by protests.

4. Only way to guarantee end of war is to walk away ... |
|
not what JFK has said he will do --- I'd like to think France, Germany etc. would join and internationalize this thing, but both have huge domestic problems and zero popular support for committing any troops

6. Only if we can't get any help from allies. |
|
If we get more monetary support, and some level of commitment to at least train Iraqi troops in other countries, AND if we shift our focus from protecting the damn oilfields and bombing random Iraqi cities to rebuilding the cities and helping moderate clerics gain control, then I will stick with Kerry to the end as far as Iraq. He never lied and said he'd immediately pull out troops to win, so that's not a standard I'm holding him to.
I believe he's going to try his best to undo the damage done by Bushco. Whether that's still feasable or not, he won't know until he takes office and gets a real unfiltered look at what's going on.

7. I will share my thoughts after the voting is over on this subject BUT |
|
I am ready to march every day until the last American is out of harms way and we are no longer killing or maiming Iraqis.

10. Iraq is a completely hopeless mess. A quagmire |
|
As it was in Vietnam days, no one wanted to be the first to say we had to leave. It took ENORMOUS pressure to get the "we can't lose" pols to admit defeat, and it took YEARS OF PRESSURE. It's too easy to send off thousands of poor kids to die and spend taxpayer gazillions to save face.
We will have to push and push and push. Personally, I'll give Kerry a few months, but don't expect much will change. He's got a HUGE mess to clean up and its going to be a bitch to sort things out.
