Just now, still on...discussing how it might not be as long a week as they thought!

what they may be trying to do is salvage some shred of credibility by being able to say they 'called it correctly' the day before the election.

I guess I'm a little paranoid these days, but I can't help but wonder if CNN (and Fox's recent poll) are meant to make us complacent and scare the hell out of Bush supporters, thereby motivating them to get out and vote.

26. After whoring for months and months ...
they are spinning to explain a possible landslide because of all the newly registered voters. I wonder why they haven't mentioned this potentiality until the day before the elections? I suppose because they have become a corporate-controlled propaganda outlet for the fascists. They will never redeem themselves after gutlessly whoring for Bush the last several months. Candy Crowley is the face of CNN. CNN has no credibility.

Supposedly some non-partisan analyst. Talking about the way things are moving in regards to the new voters, cell phone users, etc. Spoke of things like Eminem's holding up a VOTE sign on SNL, and the current trending. He was NOT a party spokesman, but I did miss his name. His main point was that they are thinking that they are seriously underestimating the number of young voters and the enthusiasm for Kerry.

40. Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson are saying
we need a clear winner.

Cheney talking about Kerry taking a poll about the Osama tape. Tucker was asked if he did. The idiot said if Cheney said it, I believe it! What an asshole.

Begala said Cheney's ending his career today. Said Kerry could not have done a poll before he commented on the tape.

Today on CNN they were reporting that there is a complete transcript of the Osama tape and they read part of it. He was being even more critical of Bush.

I've been wanting Kerry to have an ad about the 7 minutes in the classroom. But Osama beat him to it. Didn't expect that. Of course the repugs are blaming M.Moore. However, they get CNN over in those caves so they saw on there!

54. Won't work
I think at this point it only encourages voters to get out and vote because we have such a great shot. It's not like Kerry's actually being reported so far ahead as to imply that we don't have to vote. Even the suggestion is contrary to the polls, which have it tight. So don't fear. This won't suppress anything.

More troublesome would be if channels start calling it early, before voting is done in some of the really tight states, including New Mexico. I just hope the press does its job this year and doesn't jump the gun (although I believe beyond any shadow of doubt that the Florida exit polls were correct in 2000, that Gore won, and that the networks were right in calling it). But this year, I do hope that unless Kerry takes Ohio, Pa. and Fla., the nets play it cautiously. Because we want the voters coming out from coast to coast and can't afford to get lazy as far away as Washington, California and Hawaii. VOTE VOTE VOTE!
