1. If you haven't already VOTE.
2. Make a list of EVERY SINGLE PERSON you know who is a Kerry supporter or just plain hates Bush's guts and leave a space next to each and every name for a checkmark.
3. DO NOT REST until every single one of those names has a check next to it indicating that person has definitely voted, and voted PROPERLY. No provisional ballots at what is possibly the wrong polling place, etc... If you're going to vote arrange to take them with you. If you've already voted or they're going to a different polling place offer to take them anyway. Work your phone and e-mail to death. G.O.T.V.
Step 3 is particularily important if you know any young first-time voters. Heck, offer to take them AND any Kerry supporting friends they have... become a one night complimentary limo service. Celebrate an expected landslide all you like, just don't let up.
Everyone here is pretty excited about the early voting indications, and rightyl so... but remember there's still the possibility that more of the GOP voters are just planning on voting on Nov 2. The LAST thing anyone here wants to see is everyone celebrating the expected Kerry win one second and then all of a sudden see the breaking news that Bush pulled out a comeback in the last few hours of voting and squeeked one out!

We can't get overconfident. There is still much work to be done and we have to bring the Kerry/Edwards ticket home to the White House. We cannot forget House and Senatorial candidates either. It would be very good if Kerry could have a Democratic majority to work with in the Senate and House.

2. The list is important... |
|
...not only does it provide that double-checking option to make sure you haven't overlooked anyone... but it also gives you that little extra personal sense of assurance that, yes, you HAVE done your part in your neck of the woods.
Beyond that, you just really can't overstate the importance of GOTV on the youth vote in particular because they're the demographic that historically speaking have the lowest turnout, and if they get to the polls this time Bush is *finished*. So... anyone out there who knows a first-time voter for Kerry GET IN TOUCH and make sure they go if you have to walk them over there and keep them company in line. And tell them to bring their like-minded friends along.
