Backing Obama called mortal sin

Illinois' U.S. Senate candidates spent much of Halloween at churches Sunday, but Republican Alan Keyes was the one who openly mixed his faith with politics as he declared that any Roman Catholic who votes for Democrat Barack Obama would be committing a mortal sin.

Keyes, who earlier told GOP leaders of his intention to make provocative campaign statements to get attention, ratcheted up the rhetoric further as he declared that there was no difference between Catholics who support Obama and Germans who voted for the Nazi Party.

LOL!!!

1. Does anyone even listen to Keyes anymore?
I think his political career is OVER. He has no future anywhere.

It's been so much fun watching the local GOP machine ignore him this year. I wonder how much they'll up the bribe to get Ditka involved again. Bwahahahahaha.

7. In my part of Maryland we just think he is an ass. A horse's ass is at
least attached to a horse, which has some redeeming value.

LOLOLOLOL. At this point, Keyes' political future is all the way over. He's off to the land of cable news pundit.

10. Hey, wasn't there a time when Libertarians drooled over . . .
every whisper of Alan Keyes? Except, that is, when he opened his mouth about religion this and religion that and religion should be our law? Heh. According to Keyes, Roman Catholic dictum orders Americans how to vote. "Mortal sin?" Wonderful!

From the everyday Joe's viewpoint, this off-the-wall radical has always been radical and off-the-wall and it didn't take too much to detect it either.

Danziger (once again) hits the nail on the head w/ this op/ed cartoon:

. . . . . . . . . .

12. I've never known...
...anyone who is actually insane to run for office before. If this Irish Roman Catholic lived in Chicago, he can bet his "hedonist" daughter I'd vote for Edwards' 2012 VP pick, Barack Obama!

Later.

17. I wonder if Cardinal George is aware he's got competition
Or if John Paul II knows that he consecrated another cardinal for the Chicago archdiocese.

What a horse's patoot. But at least he's provided us with some levity during this exhausting campaign season.

24. There's a reason....
...Obama is out campaigning for others - his own victory is so assured. This idiot is a complete has-been republican of absolutely no consequence, and the people of Illinois know it to the tune of a 45% lead for Obama last I heard.

And yeah, if this Catholic lived in Illinois, she'd be voting for Barack Obama too.
