Libertarian Candidate Badnarik- What Percent Of Vote Will He Get? |
|
What do you think his final percentage will be?
IMO, he will get over 2% with a LOT of Republicans voting for him as a protest.
He is a very sane Libertarian. One of the most attractive 3rd party candidates I've listened to.
I could ALMOST envision voting for him. I think many Right wingers will go for him over Nader as a protest vote.

Unlike Nader, the media has not given the Libertarian candidate any free coverage over the last few months.

I know nothing about him and have never heard him speak. Sorry. :(
Then again, I know he's a computer programmer. Don't ask me how I remembered that, but that's it.
Later.

3. I wouldn't be so sure about that... |

Badnarik is doing surprisingly well in Virginia, and effectively draining votes from *.
Any Repube that I encounter who is waivering on Bu$hCo, but won't vote for Kerry is encouraged to vote Badnarik.

4. I WAS going to vote for him |

But ultimately decided that the bush defeat had to be OVERWHELMING.
I have been trying to convince other friends of the same. Some of them voted for Bush in 2000, but NONE of them are doing so in 2004, but not all of them are voting for Kerry. Badnarik seems to be the protest vote of choice among us social liberals/fiscal conservatives, but given the importance of this election and the need for it to be a mandate, I have to give Kerry my vote.

5. Two of my conservative friends are voting for him. |

I've tried to sway them to Kerry, but they neither would budge. Still, better their vote goes to Badnarik than *.

10. Safe bet that it will. |

I think * has alienated much of the Republican party, especially Libertarians.
Hopefully rational conservatives who turn away from * can vote for Kerry. But if not, I'm happy to see them vote Libertarian this year. :)

The libertarian party is claiming that as a possible maximum in N.M. I find it hard to believe. If true, it would take votes away from Bush and probably give N.M. to Kerry.

9. I reckon he'll do better than Nadir |
|
I used to be a libertarian (years ago, before I was old enough to vote); now I find them completely annoying. Most of the libertarians I know don't even vote.

That would be about 2.2 million votes. He ain't getting that. The best a Lib has ever done is 900,000 in 1980. Badnarik will maybe gett 500,000. Mark my word on it.

republicans. if you held a gun to there head and made them vote for either bush or kerry, I bet that a far higher percentage of them would have voted for Kerry than the percentage of Nader's who'd vote Bush

13. 4% in Texas, Bush's "homestate" |
|
I think quite a few folks are disgusted with Bush in Texas. They won't vote for Kerry because they won't vote for a Democrat but they could vote for a Libertarian.
