4. Um, didn't CNN's own poll yesterday
show Kerry leading in Ohio? Now they don't believe their own polls? Ultimately, it makes no differecne what they say. It all comes down to GOTV.

9. I don't believe it. Bush is headed to New Mexico - makes one last
stop in Ohio tomorrow - too late to do any good - it appears that one last stop is a courtesy stop to thank supporters. Also supposedly there was an internal Bush poll last night that was very bad for Bush - read this on another thread earlier today. No way would Bush be messing with New Mexico if he thought he still had a chance in Ohio - unless he thinks PA and Florida are both lost - which is possible.

12. Was it an internal Ohio poll?
BTW, I agree with you. The reason Bush is hitting NM, WI, etc. is because Rove needs to come up with EVs to make up for the potential loss of Ohio.

14. thinks PA and Florida are both lost-I believe that is the outlook in Bushs
camp.

And indeed I am hearing that getting FL may be easier for Kerry than getting Ohio - given the bad wheather forecast for Ohio keeping the turnout down.

11. No bad poll news please - only GOTV matters now
Turnout, turnout, turnout. Bush would need to be up a good five points in the polls if we can increase turnout in proportion to the newly registered voters.

19. Zogby said the same thing
Bush needs to be up 5% or more to win. I believe his rationale was that polls are not capturing the increased registrations and highly motivated democratic base. I happen to agree.

We saw this in 2000. Of the 12 major polls only 2 I think got it basically right that Gore would win the popular vote. The vast majority of polls simply underestimated the demo turnout.

This is even more true today given the wall to wall disasterous reign of the Chimp. I like most here expect, and we are already seeing it, a modern day high in voter turnout and that bodes very well for John Kerry.

Also, and remember this, Truth is most republicans have serious misgivings about Bush and this will depress the repukes expected turnout.

13. What did they say exactly?
I have that feeling myself though I think turnout can overcome a tilt toward Bush.

16. Less hope for Ohio
It's forecast to rain all day tomorrow in Ohio -- hard, cold, drenching rain.

The Ohio Democratic party is going to need a strong GOTV push.

18. I'm in Ohio working for Kerry - it doesn't look that way from here.
From an email to friends:

"We canvassed 2 areas of Akron today (knock and talk) and did a couple of visibility events over the last few days. We'll be canvassing again tomorrow! It's so cool to be here; everyone is so excited and the hospitality is terrific!

About an hour ago we returned to Summit County Democratic headquarters up on Market St. and met John Kerry's brother, Cameron. Tonight we're off to Cleveland for the Kerry rally with Springsteen...gates open at 6:00."

NE Ohio is hot for Kerry!

So nice when the info gets posted here directly, rather than having to go fishing around the internets.

21. JUST ONE MORE TIME ! FUCK THE POLLS !!!!!!!!
. . .The repukes just had a major setback in Ohio. Federal judges just threw their pollwatchers OUT of the polling places. They are scrambling to get an appeal in, and THIS shows a measure of desperation.
