Report from Duval County, FL ("Problem" County)
Three to four hours to early vote today. Several thousands of people, lots of Kerry/Edwards' workers and African-Americans, women, young and older folks! Our people are making their presence known so there are no "problems" with voting this time around.

:bounce:

This is a town where the local rag endored Shrubbiepoo.

2. Please keep us informed. I'm feeling pins and needles about FL.
Kerry will win the state, IF all or even most Dem votes are counted. :scared:

Just got the telephone call from one of our people from an early-voting library location in central Jacksonville.

This place is so red it's...well, it's very red.

Lots of K/E signs went awol. THey were keying cars with any bumper sticker seen as "librul". Friend was spat on.

Many people have attempted to "save me" since I have been here.

A "living wage" is seen as an affront to God, country, apple pie, and wholesome motherhood.

The local paper endorsed Bush.

It's bad.

11. There is a small-but-growing group of dems and progressives
here. We even had a progressive run once!

It has a loooooooong way to go. We want to move, friends here say, "Please don't move! We need more people like you here!"

12. Both Florida and Texas are battling for this nation's soul.
Many, many people in Texas want the bushistas overthrown. In Kansas I think it will be an easier transition. There's not the kind of rightwing political machine here that has such a stranglehold on TX and FL.

13. Heh, heh
We had a friend whose sole job was staying up all night and putting up Kerry/Edwards' signs. They would disappear, but he bought all these signs himself, paid for them himself, and spent all night driving around, putting them up.

He's retired, so he has time.

Freeps would steal them, then they would pop up again in the morning, like mushrooms on cow crap!

4. Good job
I know that part of Florida is as red as can be, but fight like hell for every vote. Keep up the good work.
