Do amish people vote?
and if they did, would they approve of almost anything Bush has done?

2. They must vote because Bush's campaign was sucking up to them
I believe there was an article previously about the Bush campaign kissing up to them.

6. but i thought they rejected all of our society.
and just wanted to be left the hell alone. my grandparents grew up in lancaster, and said that except for the markets they have, they're real isolationist.

3. GOP courts Amish votes in swing states
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5613947/

BIRD-IN-HAND, Pa. - The Amish live without electricity, cars, telephones, and usually, without voting. But they are being sought out this year as Republicans try to sign up every possible supporter in presidential battleground states.

Amish almost always side with the Republican Party when they do vote — making them an attractive, if unlikely, voting bloc in the neck-and-neck campaign between President Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry. A majority of the nation’s Amish live in key swing states like Pennsylvania and Ohio.

7. But would a pacifist Amish vote for the WAR president?
But smear a little religious patter on them and maybe it won't matter. God bless 'murica!

9. I really don't know the answer to that question. It would
seem that they would have to be against a war president since they are all c.o.s, but I guess the abortion issue and some other liberal issues would negate that? I also don't know the general consensus of the Amish on the death penalty issue. It would make for interesting reading, but I'm too distracted at the moment to concentrate.

Maybe I'll see a few in line tomorrow and ask them (I live in Amish country - we even have buggy parking at the local supermarket).

8. If they support Shrub

they are selling out their pacifist and separation-of-church-and-state--absolutist ancestors.

and if they vote shrub, I have three words for them: no draft exemptions
