And he made the best meringues in the world and the best chocolate mousse, just like my mother's. I taught him to make risotto and to make soups, to cook when I was not around.

"His diet before we were married was pasta with olio or tomato sauce, a salad and then ice cream, and I told him that even though he was thin, it was not the best way to eat."

She advocates homemade European-style bread, and taught her kids how to make it too!

p.s. word is that Kerry likes seafood (esp. cod) when he eats out? After all, he IS from MA.

Speaking of cookies -- this Chicago bakery had a Bush vs. Kerry cookie popularity contest. They ran out of Kerry cookies and had to substitute Bush ones with his picture crossed out on them!
