Poll question: Are you amazed people are still posting Hit & Run Attacks? |
|
It seems to me that this late in the game, regardless of who you support, the posters on this board would be spending their time trying to convince people as to why people should vote for their candidate. But a LOT still choose to post attacks on their opposition, even if it's information from months ago.
EXAMPLES:
BREAKING! Clark spoke at Republican Fundraiser three years ago! BREAKING! Kerry said he'd get rid of Agriculture Dep. in the 90's! BREAKING! Edwards was a lawyer! BREAKING! Dean won't release his records!
Folks, we're basically in a five-way race right now when you look at the Iowa and NH polling. Undecideds aren't going to pick your candidate because you're smearing someone else.

you started so many anti-Clark threads tonight.
It's fun! It's easy! It whitens my teeth and untangles my split ends!

You know what they say about throwing stones in glass houses.
I say lead by example. I rarely post negative attacks toward Dean (and I've been tempted to many times). I have lots of reservations about him, but I won't post them here, because I think it is couterproductive and childish.
I suggest you, as well as the rest of us, do likewise. Then you will see the attacks diminish greatly.

Is Wesley Clark getting a free ride from corporate media?
Do you agree with Clark that human life begins at birth?
Was it wise for Clark to say that al-Qaeda was not involved in 9/11?
Do you, like Clark, think that lobbyists generally make America safer?

not anymore. Your threads were deleted.
But I hardly find that a viable defense.

14. I think that Dean's record is so bad it needs to be pointed out - Quite |
|
honestly, I favor one candidate but I will be happy if any of the other candidates win over him. He does not have integrity and is trying to pretend to be someone he isn't.
In addition, I will not vote (in the primary, anyways) a candidate with his record on the environment, criminal justice, mental health, pro-business stance. I don't feel that he has an ounce of compassion.

3. This will get locked, BUT... |
|
...no, I'm not surprised; some people think they can only win by 'smearing' another candidate. Well, with the new '4 strikes and you're out' rule, we won't have to worry about them for long.

I'm new but attacks are a bit surprising and bewildering. This is getting to be an intense political time however so maybe it's natural. Hopefully we will ban together at crunch time and defeat Bush.
I'm for Dean now but will vote Democrat when they need me.

I always get the image of two kids just wailing away on each other with whiffle ball bats, neither of them doing any damage, both getting more frustrated because of it, and therefore swinging harder and faster, all to no avail. It would be funny if it wasn't so nauseating.
"He hit me first!!!!" "Nuh-Uh!!! He hit me!!!!" "Liar!!!" "Poopyhead!!!" "You're unelectable!!!" "You're a Republican!!!"

13. Personally, I want to know more about the candidates |
|
I heard, for example, that Clark was in the alternative energy business. Since my husband and I plan to get off the grid with a combination of wind/solar, this is a field I'm very interested in. What was Clark's business? Is it still in operation? What are his plans for promoting alternative energy?
I've asked this before, and don't believe I've gotten an answer (though one could have come after the thread was moved down out of sight). I support another candidate, but will not only vote for but will work for Clark's victory in November if he is chosen to be the Democratic standard-bearer.
