I just don't get it? Are they throwing Dem votes into the sea? And how in the HELL is California a "weak Kerry"?

8. The thinking, I belive,
was that neither campaign advertised on local stations in HI. However, B/C did much more advertisements on national cable stations (CNN, FOX, etc.) than K/E, so people in Hawaii got a steadier and stronger stream of B/C ads than K/E.

Also, the economy in HI is doing very, very well. And part of this is that Americans from the mainland are going to HI for vacation instead of travelling abroad for fear of the terra.

11. Thanks for the explanation...
Kind of sick in a way, profiting from people's fears...that is a very Republican trait though.

13. I heard this morning that Hawaii is one of the few states that thinks
America is on the right track. I don't think we'll lose Hawaii, but if I lived there, I'd probably be pretty positive about America.

14. In 2002, Hawaii elected its first GOP governor since 1962...
Linda Lingle. She's savvy, and is an excellent fundraiser and networker. There is also a growing presence of military and retired military on the Islands.

All of which is to say, do not take Hawaii for granted, Democrats -- GOTV!!!!

Hawai'i Poll: Bush, Kerry in dead heat
The Honolulu Advertiser
By Derrick DePledge
Advertiser Capitol Bureau
President Bush and Sen. John Kerry are deadlocked among likely voters in Hawai'i, a surprising boost for the Republican president in a state that many Democrats had considered safe for Kerry.

16. But the graph changes dramatically between just Sept. and Oct.
I know we shouldn't take any state for granted, but still. I'm shocked it happened so quickly. Thanks for the explanation
