"Probably Won't Know The Result Until 4 or 5 AM...That's OPTIMISTIC." |
|
That's what Karen Tumulty just said on Lou Dobbs Tonight, does that sound about right for everyone else?
Probably won't know the result, optimistically, until about 4 or 5AM?

2. Bring it on. I'll be up. |
|
The earliest I have ever gone to bed on election night was 4AM, and that was in the non-close election of 1996.

If the reports are of record turnout and I think they will , it will be all over for the chimp.

4. That's about how it was last time |
|
I went to bed thinking one thing, woke up in the middle of the night and found something else, and when I woke up in the morning it was something else altoghether.
That said, I think this time will be different. There are so many people voting, I think we'll have a pretty good idea who has won a little sooner than that.

5. In 2000 they called Florida for Gore at about 6:00 PM Pacific time |
|
I remember driving home and looking at the clock when I first heard that Gore won FL. That was supposed to be the key. That was after all the Panhandle polls were closed and no one went home without voting in FL contrary to what the freeps say.

8. Which time zone were they referring to on Lou Dobbs-- Eastern? |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 07:09 PM by rezmutt
I presume that they were referring to EST.
And from this West-Coaster, yes, 5:00 a.m. EST sounds about right.
On edit: After the 2000 fiasco, networks will be **very** skittish about calling anything too soon.

they'll call it as soon as someone's finger in the wind tells them.
The media is competitive, not accurate. To them, that's all that matters.
