11. I noticed that the first time I drove all the way across Alabama
A newspaper headline in Montgomery was trumpeting that the median age at death in Alabama was begining to approach the national average. I thought, "how sad that these folks have to settle with being glad they live almost as long as everyone else."

14. This is one of the mose repressed states in the country
Run by redneck retards. And slap full of prison industry. Alabama could fall off the planet and no one would ever notice.

15. They are building faster roads across the state though
That means less time for me in Alabama! When I drive home, I have to drive all the way from Houston County all the way up to Mississippi via Marion County. I must admit, there are some very pretty, verdant areas up in there, but god the number of shacks is pathetic.

Strange, considering how progressive we (usually) are. You can vote early via absentee though.

16. Not only can you vote early via absentee,
you can vote "absentee" in person.

We have same day registration, which rocks for democracy. Current MN ID or other ID with proof of address required for same day registration--surprising to Freeper types, there is consistently virtually no fraud attempted with our system.

We also use optical scan ballots and we will never use paperless voting systems. The secretary of state's office is quite firmly committed to optical scan counting because it has been proven to be accurate over the years, and is always recountable. The paperless lever machine days are long gone, and we're not about to go backwards with paperless BBV machines. (Despite the fact that our SOS is a GOPer, she lets her non-partisan election administrators just do their jobs for the most part.)
