Spent all day in Pennsylvania for Kerry
At 9:00 a.m, I went and held signs at a "visibility event" at an intersection in Chester, PA (fairly low-income area) and was met with OVERWHELMING support from the locals. A large group from Bard College in N.Y. and some of my friends were there. We had "honk for Kerry" signs and the noise was deafening!

After lunch, I went back to Chester to phone bank (which I hate doing, by the way). The few people who were home were supportive; many said they had already volunteered, would be driving retirees to the polls, etc.

Then I went to Media, PA (a wealthier area) with another group to do a lit drop. It kind of sucked because it was getting dark and I had trouble finding stuff (especially with many people not having house numbers or lights on). In Media I encountered more than token resistence, but also many supporters. After working till dark, I needed a break and happened to pass a group with Bush/Cheney signs at another intersection. I rolled down the window and said "Nice deficits, assholes" they then walked closer and said "It was worse...." but I didn't hear the end of it because I was rolling the window up. Seeing them still looking at me and the light still red, I rolled the window down again and said, very politely, "Fuck you" and then left.

Now I'm going to work some in Delaware until I collapse.

1. Maybe they said "It was worse when Clinton gave us a surplus?"
Too much ignorance on the other side!

Good work helping with the last minute Kerry push! :)

2. What happened in PA to push them to * ?????
For weeks now the polls have had Kerry in PA and * in FL and OH. Today
I pick up the the USA Today and they have * 50-46 in PA, Kerry 50-46 in OH and Kerry 50-47 in FL. USA has them 49-49 nationally, hasn't USA had Bush ahead consistently through it all? I'm just going to go by the Washington Redskins Poll, it's about as reliable as any of the others.

3. Thanks. This is a great story
Along with the other stories about people joining the GOTV movement. Each story makes my smile a little bigger and my thanks much more heartfelt.

This is why Bush is G.O.N.E.
