That they aren't exactly "grassroots" when you are backing the incumbent whose party controls every branch of government.
YThey aren't the underdogs here. They are just sycophantic losers.

But I like to see them use that term over in Freeperland. Specifically a post saying "let's start a grassroots movement and get on the phone tonight" or something to that effect. At this point, what's going to happen is going to happen.
