|
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 07:45 PM by Days Between
ABC 7 in Los Angeles, a few minutes ago:
4th and 5th graders at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary school in Burbank held a mock election today. "They were very informed voters, as they had been studying about the electorate for several weeks," according to the report.
The results? "A landslide for John Kerry with 94 votes, George Bush with 53."
Ahhh, the sweetness...!!!

in a very conservative part of Austin. In 2000, the kids voted about 90% for *.
This year, Kerry beat Bush by two points. Not a lot, but when you consider the population...amazaing. Nader got 5% only because the "arty" kids wanted to be different.
In discussion in my classes, the kids this year were highly hostile towards *. I did not see that last time or even during local elections.
Let's hope it is a good sign.

My kid goes to a magnet school in east Tennessee. Their breakdown was Kerry 80% and Bush 20%. In his class the final count was Kerry 13, Bush 2 and Nader 2.
