I'm Calling Some People Out. Right here. Right now. John Forbes Kerry.
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 08:45 PM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop

I KNOW that this forum is crawling with Dem Party Operatives with Clout. How do I know? Because I have asked the right people and what we do and say here is known. Well known. I even outed myself to one, said I was The Great and Awesome Scheisskopf(Right. Sure. Eldritch, too.) and he was "You? Really?!". So I know they are here.

Ok guys, it's time for you to do something really, really...real. You have the clout. You have the pull. You have the access. You can pull this off.

Go get John.

Go get him, sit him down in front of your laptop, have him create an account, and have him type something to the good, good people here. The people who have, quite unarguably, driven so much of this campaign. The people who have worried and worked, worked and sweat, sweat and bled yellow(as in Yellow Dog) for far longer than you guys have had a mitt and been in this campaign game. These are the people who started this campaign the day that DU opened it's virtual doors and they have not let up one whit since then. These are your core of cores. These are the ones. Here is where the energy began. The energy that is propelling you to victory. This place is your Ground Zero of Victory.

Time to do the right thing. Time for John to have a little chat with these good, good people. They so deserve it. Time to get real.

Right here. Right now.

I'm calling you out. Let's see what you got.

1. You know, I had a fleeting hope Kerry might post here
Maybe a thank you after his victory. I don't know though... but maybe he would.

7. That would be nice, too.
Just a little dialogue. I know we are something of a virtual terrarium experiment in politics, and that because of that, we have largely been left to our own devices. But hey, how long does it take to type a few words. We wait on the cusp of something strange and great and wonderful, right now. It is not unlike the night before D-Day, in the racks of the troop ships, with the quiet thoughts, and the scuttlebutt.

A few words from the commanding officer was traditional then.

17. I'd rather he continue to spend all of his time
working the swing states and winning this election. No need for a thank you == winning the election and stopping the carnage would be enough for me!

4. DU has power!
I think DU needs to be aknowledged too. The only time I hear this sight mentioned is when I monitor conservative talk radio. Rush mentioned us today. The least the party operatives could do is give us an electronic high-five.

What he needs to do now is get those final undecideds. Let's let the man work, 'kay?

14. Actually, I hope he doesn't
It would be a blow to credibility.

See, we are EXTREMELY partisan here. We can afford to be.

He can't. Starting at noon on January 20, 2005, he MUST BE President of THE ENTIRE NATION!

Most DUers know me. They know how undecided I was throughout much of the primaries. They know I ended up holding a grudge against Kerry after Iowa. They also know I have become a 100% Kerry supporter.

After watching Kerry's speech at the DNC, something struck me. I had an epiphany during that speech.

It became clear to me, John Forbes Kerry is destined for greatness.

Our future president cannot be seen to be as partisan as we are. This man is going into a situation I would truly wish on no man, and he is doing it willingly.

I salute John Forbes Kerry. He's a far better man than I. I'll always be a DUer, but I sincerely hope he never openly posts on DU. His family can. His friends can. His staff can. But a man destined to be as great a president as Senator Kerry cannot.

I was NOT happy after Iowa at all but I have come to be a Kerry supporter and I think that while I'd like to see someone from in or around the campaign give us some knowledgable encouragement tonight that Kerry probably should not himself.

23. Nobody pays a lot of attention to a national delegate from Texas
or not hardly anyone else from Texas (unless they want money) as Texas does not swing a lot of national clout much anymore. But I, for one, will make a couple of phone calls and send an email to some folks I know that are close to Kerry. In this complete frenzy we've all been in the last few weeks this is something that never occurred to me.

But you are totally and 150% correct. Right here on DU is where it all started. There is no questioning that absolute fact of life.

50. I know that I can get along just fine without a pat on the back.
What I want President Kerry to do from day after tomorrow on is

1) Track down and expose the massive fraud and putrid corruption

that the bush crime family subjected the American people to.

There Must be consequences and stiff penalties paid. There will be

a lot of pressure for Kerry to let it slide in the name of national

unity. We must stand firm and insist the the criminals face Justice.

Kerry with his background in investigating BCCI and Iran/Contra is

the perfect man at the perfect time for the job. Elliot Spitzer

would be the ideal choice for A.G.

2) Pursue a progressive agenda for this country. We will need to

push for this to happen and help by moving the dialog to the left.

I would love for the Democratic Party to have a progressive Contract

for America in place for the 2006 midterms.
