BOB GRAHAM is not really helping us on on Paula Zhar-NOW
I feel bad. I'm sure he's a nice guy but he isn't helping us AT ALL. HE's a little to slow and to unclear on the campaign policies to speak for us. He is also either uninformed or under informed on the issues.

12. They should have let Clark handle it again. Guess they wanted that
Florida connection.

car accident. I don't want to look but...but...I can't help it.

2. These aren't undecided voters either
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 08:45 PM by plastic_turkeys
They are clapping in wild rapture when Ralph Reed suggests Kerry will clone humans for stem cell research. Idiots.

I'm reading his book right now and my respect for him is going up up up.

What exactly is he doing?

13. Let's put it this way, if you're facing a snake in the grass you need to
be a snake or be faster than a snake.

I don't want him to be a snake. I do want him to be faster than Ralph Reed - aka SNAKE.

Ralph is going unchallenged in some of his ridiculous assertions, especially the one about stem cell research.

Bush apparently is the savior of stem-cell research because he is the only president who provided Federal money for stem-cell research.

Huh???

I was under the impression that he only provided a limited number of lines but prevented Federal funding of newly created lines or stem cells that have been stored in fertility banks that were created for invitro fertilization. I also heard that the lines released for research were contaminated.

Why wasn't Graham allowed to rebutt Reed's lies?

Can somebody fill me in on what the hell Reed was talking about?

7. Was thinking the same thing. Nice man, but not so great spokesperson
at this point in the game. Too nice. Would have rather seen Wes, Joe Lockhart or Wolfson.

And that Ralph Reed lie-a-minute bitch is such scum.

9. Graham is a very polite person
old-style (and I mean that as a compliment to him-I am a big admirerer of his), but, when dealing with media whores who scream and yell, twist non-wingnuts' words, and cut them off before they can respond, he is too nice.

That is why progressives must get aggressive.

I also think Graham is ill.

11. He likes to get along
Although he is/was my senator I've never been a big Graham fan. For one thing he's "republican-lite". You can call it moderate if it makes you feel better.
He does have a reputation of trying to "get along". He's not into attacking people and tries hard to work things out with the other side (gosh, remember those days).
In his defense, although he is somewhat quirky he is a kind, generous man and he is VERY bright. He made be just trying to figure out how to respond to be on a stage with a loon. :(

15. "Republican Lite"
He comes from a swing state...

If he voted like Ted Kennedy he would have never been elected to the Florida state legislature, Governor, and Senator....

21. Uh-oh
I just knew that comment was going to get me hammered. ;)

Listen: I'm NOT saying he (or his beliefs) are wrong. As I stated I have a lot of respect for the man and his values (he IS a good guy). I just have a problem with some of his more moderate beliefs (support of that detestable flag burning admendment; death penalty issues, etc.) I'm just far more fond of more liberal folk. My ideal dems are Bob Kerrey, Gary Hart and Bill Bradley. Not of the more moderate stripe.

But I am willing to go along. I voted for Graham repeatedly and I have cast my vote for Betty Castor. She is, in my mind, even worse than Graham in some ways (the Iraq war, the..ugh..patriot act) but she is miles above her sleaze opposition, Martinez.

I live in the Tampa Bay, FL so trust me, I know, the mindset of most of the political folk around here. You have to be moderate to get elected. Graham is a fine example, as is the late, lamented Lawton Chiles. For the record I BUSTED MY ASS to get Chiles elected twice. So just because I don't like the more moderate among us doesn't mean I don't supprt them or am unaware of the political realities of my state.

Trust me, (sadly), I am very aware. :(

CNN and FOX do this kind of crap, they asked for him personaly, because they knew he'd be slow to answer questions.

The questions were so stupid too, "loaded" isnt a good enough word to describe the questions in Paula's stupid "town hall meetings", remember Paula used to be on FOX news, so don't expect a "fare and balanced" town hall meeting.
