GOP Sues Over Fla. County's Voter Rolls

By RACHEL LA CORTE, Associated Press Writer

MIAMI - Republicans sued the elections supervisor in heavily Democratic Broward County on Monday, arguing she failed to update the list of voters who cast ballots early for Tuesday's election.

Republican officials said they were concerned that throngs of voters showing up Monday at early voting sites could vote again Election Day because the list sent to precincts contains only the names of people who voted early through Sunday.

"There isn't any sort of check to keep them from voting twice. There's nothing in place to alert the clerks that the person may have voted during the early voting period," said GOP attorney Hayden Dempsey.

2. Early voting has been a red flag in my mind
The US Constitution states, "The Congress may determine the Time of choosing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States."

I feared all along that the Repugs would challenge early voting this year. But didn't several/many states vote early in 2000?
