Another Repblican Neighbor Story

Last night, Halloween, was just lovely here in Maryland. Warm, even. We had dinner with our next door neighbors. Put up a sign on our door for the kids to knock next door and get two treats rather than egg our house.

This couple have been decades long friends. She's always been a Dem. He's a Republican, but in no way a crazy. We invited them to our Clark house party. She came and donated. He didn't. At one point he had a picture of Boosh on his fridge! (He works for the TSA)

Over the course of conversation last night, he let it be known he's voting for Kerry! My wife (Sparkly) asked what changed his mind. His answer sorta amazed us both, for we would never have guessed it.

The VP debates did it for him. He always knew Bush was only a front man ... and pretty much disengaged from everything but campaigning. He also know Cheney was an evil man. But after seeing the boy king shrivel and yammer when debating Kerry and then seeing Cheney in command of the facts and the arcane, it dawned on him who was actually running the show.

Now he's strong behind Kerry. He's also a Navy guy from the same era. He recalls Kerry's activities with VVAW and was on their side at the time.

Just goes to show ...... Kerry's a strong closer, sometimes simply by being who he is and being proud of it.
