Here's how I know we'll win

My 92-year-old great uncle, a lifelong Republican who has voted Repug for about 70 years, cannot stand Bush & Co. He absolutely is appalled by the war in Iraq, the overtly religious bias the administration advocates, their social policies, the debt they've incurred, the whole ball of wax. He even watches Jon Stewart nightly.

Even more beautiful than seeing his political tranformation (though he'd argue that the GOP left him, not viceversa) is hearing his tales of who now contacts him for donations. He called my mother the other week to ask whether Emily's List was a legitimate organization. She explained what it was and he said that he'd go ahead and send them some $$$. When my mother asked how they got his name, he said he figured that it was sparked by his donation to Planned Parenthood. Go Uncle Bill!!!

my grandfather would have been 95 this year and a real old-line Lincoln Republican. The party would have left him too because he was a fair and decent man. Give the old boy a kiss for me because my grandpa is gone

and, any 92 year old man who donates to PP and Emily's list, man, you gotta love him. I do from afar.
