Republican voters deserting the Chimp
Enjoyed this report out of Iowa quoted on dailykos. I have found that there are a number of Republicans here in AZ who also will desert the sinking, rat-infested tub of shit known as the Bush presidency:

In Cedar Rapids on Friday, Don Palmer, a retired engineering manager and foot soldier in the Republican voter drive, got a taste of party disloyalty after he knocked on Sharon Wellington's door.

The voter profile assembled by the party on Mrs. Wellington showed she was a Republican and a highly likely supporter of Mr. Bush, Mr. Palmer said. (The Republican Party bought mailing lists from the National Rifle Association and other conservative groups, and meshed them with other databases and county election records.)But Mr. Palmer wilted when she told him that she supported abortion rights, blamed Mr. Bush for the national debt and anguished over Iraq for "going on and on, and I don't see an end." She said she would vote for Mr. Kerry.

Mr. Palmer said that in all, about 30 percent of the people the party had identified as likely supporters of Mr. Bush said they were voting for Mr. Kerry.

I'm not sure it's going to be 30%, but it's going to be higher than the polls indicate.

4. dems in AZ
I agree, I feel like a closet democrat in Arizona. This year seems to be different, more liberal right or middle people who went for Bonzo in 2000 are going for Kerry. Arizona is still a nazi state, but softening.

They got the idea for some of the propositions on the Arizona ballot right out of Mien Kemf. If Prop. 200 passes, Arizona may as well drape itself in a white sheet and hood.

18. No kidding
What a load of crap they got on the ballot. I hear seemingly rational people proclaiming admiration and respect for the chimp and support for this GOP backed load of shit. I just don't get it, its like looking back at WWII films when Hitler first came to power. Wild eyed unthinking admiration for a dictator, as if the whole world had gone mad.

17. My parents were Republicans

They would never have voted for this crew after the mess they've made in the Middle East. They didn't vote for him, but they respected Carter for his even-handed treatment of Israeli/Palestinian affairs.

My parents spent several years in Saudi Arabia. They knew many dispossessed Palestinians who had lost their homes in the 40s. In their travels they met Israeli jews who had survived arab attacks. They learned that the suffering extended to both sides, and I know they would be appalled at Bush's bizarre, fundamentalist-inspired policies.

8. My mom told my sister (won't say anything to me)
That she is voting Kerry, because of the high cost of medical care and medicine. She has been bigggggg shrub support and loyal Faux watcher.

I don't care what the pundits say, people will be voting their pocket book and conscience!

16. My 60-ish Repub neighbors voted for Kerry this time around.
Several months ago the husband shocked me when he said he told his sons to go to Canada if they initiated the draft.

He is a Vietnam-era veteran and I just didn't expect such a comment. Later, he wrote in the dust on the tailgate of his pickup:

1000 dead for Bush
7000 wounded for Bush

He drives a lot, so many, many people saw that.
