1. They've waited in long lines all summer long to see Kerry
They've walked hundreds of blocks in protest...maybe Republicans who are the REAL ENTITLEMENT problem in this nation won't...but Dems will

12. Interesting point.........
that long lines may make Republicans not want to wait around....hadn't thought of that.

Us Democrats, always suppressing the vote. :)

2. Aside from being wrong...........
it is what they are hoping people won't do.

Or, they are trying to keep people from going in the first place.

3. doubtful
I think most people view this election as so important that nothing short of tornados will stop them once they are in line.

17. A lot of organization, a lot of effort into making sure people CAN vote
...stories coming through today about things like carpools being set up to guarantee that everyone who needs a ride to the polls has one.

Looking at every scenario that might prevent a voter from voting and developing several back-up plans.

I talked to my C.P.A. today and he said "I vote in every election and normally it's no big deal to me, but I get the feeling that this one is different."

30. That's right
we have been waiting 4 YEARS so waiting in long for a few hours or even several hours is nothing compared to the 4 YEARS of hell we endured.

tomorrow is last chance and many of us have arranged to stay out there for as long as it takes.

9. I don't think there will be long lines
At least not in Florida. 1 million people have alredy voted (early voting) & with the polls open 12 hours, I think it will be steady but not like it was during early voting.

The media doesn't know what to make of our support for John Kerry and our desire to hold * accountable.

They just don't fucking get it.

25. Let's put it this way...
Illinois is considered a safe state. I am crippled and disabled, so I will have to use crutches. It's been raining here for about a week, and it's going to be cold and wet tomorrow morning. They probably don't really need me, but, even if it ends up being my last act in this world, and if I have to stand in line the whole fucking day, I WILL be there and I WILL vote!

I'd bring some chairs and umbrellas and hot chocolate and sandwiches and we'd make a party of it. I'll be thinking of you and all the other people who are disabled and are still going to get out there no matter what and VOTE! :) :) :)

33. Thank you.
Turned out to be a total piece of cake. My wife and I arrived at the polling place at 5:58 A.M. We were numbers nine and ten, so we blew right through and did our bit to assure that John/John and Barack Obama are representing the sane people from now on as well as doing whatever is necessary to stop the entire world from hating us so much. It is true that when you declare your intention to the universe, without any room for quibbling, the universe gets out of the way.

34. I am disabled, too
My sister asked what I would do if I had to wait in line. I said, I have my Rascal scooter and I will sit on it and wait all day if necessary. Wish I had known, RevRussel, I would have brought you my manual wheelchair in case you needed it.

I didn't have to wait. I did go with my crutches, but the Rascal was in the car in case I needed it.

Power to the people!!!! I would have waited all day. I have voted in every Presidential election since 1968 and always for the Democrat, but never with such intensity. I was robbed of voting for Robert Kennedy, but nobody was taking away my right to vote for the man who will at least give me a chance for stem cell research....and everything else that is right and good for this country. No one!

26. Are You Kidding?
You mean the way Bush essentially said "fuck you" to everyone I won in 2000 and did not even as much as offer an olive branch to the opposition? I think amost 100% of people wanting to vote this year have election 2000 as fresh in their memory as if it happened yesterday. To get their chance they waited a long 4 years for to make their mark against Bush they will wait in hordes of locust.

Republicans won't (they're convinced their candidate will win anyway)

Democrats will (we're convinced our vote is the one Kerry needs to win)!

29. I think...
...that, once they realize that the Republicans are trying to block them from voting because of their race, they'll be there come hell or high water!

And, in case any of them were undecided, I'm sure they won't be any more by the time they get into the voting booth.

32. My principal says we don't have to come in until after we vote
I'll wait in line all day if I have to. Although I highly doubt I'll have to. In this repub area, lines for early voting have been 2-3 hours long all day every day for 2 weeks, so I think the polls won't be as bad as usual. I'll be leaving in an hour either way.

Wear blue everyone!

Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 10:47 AM by rocknation
Why aren't they asking why the election boards weren't better prepared for what they knew would be excessively heavy turnout? That's what reporters are SUPPOSED to do, you know!
