4. Me, too!
If we pull this one off, we will have done it despite the networks/cable-news-networks.

8. Yes! The fairness doctrine should be reinstated.
There was support for this on both sides of the aisle in the 80's. Lets see all those that complain about the 'liberal media' put their money where their mouth is.

7. For network, CBS
But I agree: also watch CSpan, listen to Air America Radio, and read DU and other Internet sites.

9. Canada Now!
Luckily, I live in a border state (Michigan) and can get the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.'s news. BBC is a nice backup.

10. PBS
An interesting thing about the PBS coverage is that they'll show the projections/estimates of the various networks in addition to AP.

That, plus Jim Lehrer and the PBS team!

11. I used to think CNN, but no longer.
I don't think there are any unbiased networks anymore. I get my news on the internet, mostly on DU, KGO and Air America.

12. If limited to basic broadcast channels, I'd go with CBS or PBS
That's if you are antennae-only (like lots of my friends in rural areas). If you have basic cable, C-SPAN is best bet (unless you love to hate the pundits and talking heads that reign everywhere else).

17. Try your local stations
They cut away to local races, and most local news operations are pretty fair (though not all).

Otherwise, listen to NPR on the radio.
