Something's amiss...THINGS ARE TOO QUIET
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 12:22 AM by digno dave
I'm beginning to think more and more that Rove has made a conscious decision to to forgo the october surprise. He is planning for a more subteranean effect on the election. i think all his tricks are going to be put into action on election day. I think voter suppression, corrupt Diebold voting machines and brother Jeb will be counted on to sway the election their way.
I think Drudge is totally aware of the goings on. Why else would he have a picture of a black female voting on a Diebold machine. That is no accident. Sludge know the power of the image and the intent behind the pics he uses on his site is calculated. He's rubbing it in our faces.
Tell me i'm paranoid.

5. I feel it too
No big surprise, polls show a really close race, and GOP attack dogs not almost conciliatory in their attacks today. What gives?

7. You're paranoid. You give Rove far too much credit.
The repubs have run their campaign like amateurs. First they can't out spend us, they go too negative, their ads peak too early, they lost the debates. They feel they need to suppress the vote to win. They have 24/7 radio air time for the whole election cycle and still can't go ahead. Need I say more?

of about 19 states, he's totally irrelevant this time.

21. Kerry won't even "need" Florida iF Ohio & PA
are with him.. If he gets those and the ones we think he will get, George has to "run the table" and get Hawaii, & NM and a bunch more.. I don't think he can do it :)

9. I'm with ya.
Especially because all the Pug operatives on TV today have been saying how they expect a smooth clear night on Tuesday and gee gosh they don't think any challenges or litigation will happen and yada yada yada.

We now know that Rove ran an election to the Supreme Court TWICE in overtime. In 1994 and 2000. His game is predicted already. A post-election strategy. Both times, he prevailed.

Something's up. My predictions for trouble include Colorado and Ohio.

12. Well, I'm not going to say that you are paranoid...
because just because you are paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you.

However, it is time to remain calm and confident. Remember, in my spiritual relm (Relgious Science/Unitarian side of things)... a positive statement negates any negative thoughts.

Kerry in a landslide (no matter what they pull)!

The post-election strategy. Which is what appears to be in the works this time, too.

19. Stealing FLORIDA Was His November Surprise for Gore in 2000
This year, that wouldn't even be a surprise. Nor would Ohio.
They are trying to steal those states, we know they are trying to
steal them, and we are doing everything we can to try to stop them.

They could rig up such a surprise in Maryland. That is a blue state,
but their state government has for some reason insisted on the most
insecure and fraud-prone configuration of electoral equipment with
no paper trail, despite massive public input to the contrary. Maryland
could be the November surprise. People would question it, of course, since the state has been consistantly polling for Kerry,
except for one outlier a while back. But with Diebold touch-screen
machinez state-wide, there is no recount and no recourse.
The final tally is whatever the Diebold says it is.

They can also program the machinez to swing close states, though that
would be ineffective against large Democratic turnout in areas with
real ballots. Fortunately, swing states have relatively few DREs.

14. I was paranoid also...
I see that most are voting for "paranoid" and I agree. I was totally paranoid about Rove and his coven of evildoers cheating or doing something over-the-top nasty. My problem was that I overestimated their competance. Going in, it seemed like they had a motivated group of professionals...like hitmen... who would stop at nothing to win.

Now it's starting to look like their strategy to rule forever was about as well-thought as their strategy to win Iraq.

That's right Rove, you heard me... you got the balls but not the brains.

18. I hear ya
Tomorrow is going to be a LOOONG day, and a LOT might still happen.

The situation is so volatile, nothing would surprise me.

Why do *I* suspect? His Chimperial Majesty is in Crawford -- aka The Death Star. He doesn't go there to relax -- he goes there because it is "safe" -- away from the prying eyes of Washington DC and maybe folks who wouldn't sell their country to serve a Bush. Crawford is where all the major plotting takes place. Crawford was where they sealed the deal and came up with the ballots they "knew" Bush had coming to him, in SPITE of what all the exit polls were saying, and constantly interfaced with Cousin John Ellis over at Fox, and started what would be traditional for their adminstration -- constantly repeating lies in the hope that people will break down and accept them as facts.

As Jon Stewart said tonight, I hope you all fool me and make this a boring election in which nothing too awful happens. , I hope this will be a Clinton era "Millenium" new years eve kinda night, not anything "interesting."

I think they still have a few cards to play. Hell, even if everything works out for Kerry 100% the same as it "did" for Bush, they will be screaming that it is wrong, illegal, etc.

I was in Florida in 2000, and I witnessed a lot of craziness, including freepers bringing weapons to demonstrations "just in case." We're NOT going to let them get away with it again. NOR will the American people buy the media's exhortations that "America needs to move on!" We're going to do something they can't deal with -- we're going to fight back . "Forget about blood for oil, we got battles to fight on our own soil."
