because if dean wins iowa with a strong first place it will secure his lead in new hampshire some more. this is the only thing all the other candidates have in common when it comes to how it will affect them. and i don't mean in a personal sense. if any of the other candidates were in the same position it would be the same thing.
but if dean either doesn't get first in new hampshire, or if it isn't as strong then that would make the other candidates seem more competetive and have more of a chance.

From a slate of capable, intelligent, concerned, experienced men.
In state after state, thoughtful, worried Democrats will make their choices known.
And the one who comes out ahead gets all of us, or we're dead. Historians in other countries can write brief paragraphs about who we were, and who we thought we were.
