President-elect Kerry
Great article I found in a random google search:

President-elect Kerry rises early, at 6:07 a.m. He gets up around this time most days, unless it's Sunday, when, like all devout Catholics, he shows up late for church.

For most of the months on the campaign trail, the then-senator was woken by an aide or family member. But today he wakes up on his own. The skipping around the country, making speeches, hosting dinners and winning debates has taken its toll. The president-elect takes a moment and sits in his bed, contemplating the future.

Perhaps he is thinking of his hero, John F. Kennedy, whose daughter Caroline awoke him the morning after the 1960 election squealing, "Good morning, Mr. President." And he thinks about the new Camelot he will bring to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. And he never wants to hear about flip-flopping again.

...

Afterward, the president-elect meets with bigwigs, donors and other people close to him. They congratulate him, and foam at the mouth over the thought of the next four years. Kerry smiles, and wonders about the next four years as well. But mostly, the bigwigs feel warm that they know someone who became President.
