1. Look, that's a bit unfair
Bob Kerrey is a good personal friend of Kerry and is someone I respect. I STRONGLY disagree with his point of view, but we don't need to become like the Republicans and kick out any dissenting voice. He never said he doesn't want Kerry to win or that he's not voting for Kerry. He's entitled to his opinion, even if he wrongly believes that an uncontested election would be good for the country.

Disagree with him sure. Be momentarily pissed off at him, fine. But kick him out of the party as the new Zell? Please.

4. Bob Kerrey is no Zell Miller.
He is a tough SOB who defended John Kerry harder than anyone throughout the SwiftVet fiasco.

Sunday night on Larry King Live, Kerrey ripped Marc Racicot a new one.

Bob Kerrey may disagree with liberals on some issues, but he is a tough, loyal Democrat.

10. Please control yourselves
Bob Kerrey is one of the best Democrats to ever serve our nation in the Senate. Distortion is the Republican game, not ours. Take it the fuck easy.

20. Yes, Bob Kerrey is a great American.
He won the Medal of Honor - the highest American military decoration -- in Vietnam, and left part of his leg on the battlefield. Governor of Nebraska. Senator. Helped shed light on atrocities in committed in Vietnam. Sat on 9-11 Comission. Bob Kerrey has a resume even more distinguished than John Kerry. They are both great Democrats and great Americans.

11. Oh common. Bob Kerry is doing a lot more good for us than bad.
I think a very long drawnout battle for this election WOULD be very bad for this country.

Should Kerry fight for the win if it looks like dirty tricks were played...OF COURSE!

But if it appears to be a legit election, the losing candidate SHOULD concede...PERIOD!

I really believe that was all Bob was trying to say.

I really believe both candidates in 2000 did the wrong thing. They should have both demanded a total recound of the entire state of Florida. Neither one was willing to take the chance, and I think that was wrong.

I hopw both sides learned something from that experience.

13. Actually what he said is much more like Joe Lieberman.
He's still a good pro-labor democrat. He just has an affliction that's all too common among democrats of late: rubber spine syndrome.

17. Interesting thought, but not gonna win you any popularity contests.
People have invested too much time, money and effort into this for him to blow it off for us BEFORE the election.

He could've just said "I'm confident that there will be no need to contest as it will be a decisive Kerry win."

19. Bob Kerrey is another American Hero
Medal of Honor winner

Friend of Kerry

Defender of Kerry thru the swiftboatfuckers shitstorm

Look at what he said. I took it in an entirely different way. If it is bullshit litigation with no meritorious basis, then don't do it. If it is righteous, do it.

But .... and *big* but here ............

I saw it is a shot across the bow of the lawyered up Repubs known for doing this shit. Sue for a losing cause and besmirch everyone and you lose big time.

Don't fuck with us is what he said .... but in a diplomatic way.

At least that was my take on it.

Your mileage may vary ......

22. Yes, that's the way I took it : "don't mess with us".
On Sunday night on Larry King he had it out with Marc Racicot, and in effect told him "don't mess with us". Kerrey took care of him real good, better than most Democrats or even McCauliffe would ever do.

and I am glad, even though a Republican might win. Good riddance, and I hope we can rebuild our party in Georgia after what he pulled.

26. Mickey Kantor said the same thing
tonight on Olberman, actually. This may well be an official meme right now.

Look, we're not the one's who tend to sue. THEY are. Rove, to be sure, has a long and checkered history with this. And he often wins by doing it (remember that judgeship he had in litigation for more than a year and finally won?)
