Court OKs Voter Challengers in Ohio

Damn. Just spotted this on Yahoo News. Seems the challenger stuff had been shot down earlier today, but the appeals court has let this go through. I just cannot imagine allowing GOP intimidators at polling places. Seems very un-American to me.

2. We will fight them, we will Mosh.
We must stand them aside and let the crowd vote on. We will bring video and tape, track those fuckers till they admit they themselves are fake.

3. I guess if you go high enough you'll find elite judges
sympathetic to the Republican cause. (Hmmm...is there a correlation? Bastards!)

Well we just can't have 'activist judges' subverting Democracy how, can we?

7. All Our Election-Related Litigation Has Been Going Like That
We may have thousands of lawyers, but THEY have the JUDGES! :-(

General rule, if it goes to the courts, we're screwed.
If it goes to the state legislatures, we're screwed in the states that matter the most.
If it goes to the House, we're screwed.

If we're ahead, but it's close, it goes to one of the above places and we lose.
We have to be ahead by a lot. We need nothing less than a landslide.

4. Two out of three judges were repub nominees.
Two out of the three judges were nominated by Republican presidents, so I'm not very surprised. One by Reagan, one by Dubya. The dissenting judge was appointed by Clinton.

I am sooo not surprised. Enraged, yes, but not surprised.

5. But the GOP does not do that
What do I hear all the time, the libs appoint judges based on a litmus test, while the GOP only appoints competent jurists. Judicial activism is liberal, not a repug virtue.

I agree with you, not surprised, Enraged and nauseous. :puke:

8. This makes me want to go berserk!!!!
All year long here at DU, there have been Naderites and some others who have poo-pooed voting altogether, remaining totally focused on their candidate, and ignoring larger issues, such as the goddamned judicial appointments.

This is a perfect example of how importnat this issue is!!!! :grr:

10. I liked Randi Rhodes take ...

Oh those snot nose white guys are going to march into minority neighborhoods and hold up the lines???? I hope they didn't drive a nice car their.

Excuse me Mr White guy, are you driving the Lexus??? It's on fire!!!

Seriously, I think that the local "boys" need to pick up the challengers, CARRY them out of the polling places and put them at the mercy of those waiting in line to vote. THEN we'll see them shirk and tremble like the cowards they are!!!!

12. I hope to see some of those poll watchers
My entire neighborhood does as well. If they are stupid enough to come here I hope they remember the name "Custer" because nobody is in the mood for them.
