1. They shouldn't be able to hold up the line. Challenged voter should |
|
be taken aside while everyone else votes.

2. There's no "if" about this |
|
that's what they're there to do. If they can't run out the clock they can at least make the line shorter by holding it up for hours.
With the bonus that provisional ballots are not often counted.

4. If they make the line go slower, I hope the |
|
people in line just become more determined to vote and stay in line for as long as it takes. I would because as long as they are in line the polls stay open for them.
I can envision a long long long line when it's ordinarily time for the polls to close.

5. No, they can't. The Rethugs can grill and intimidate every black voter |
|
and there isn't a goddamn thing that can be done.
This is not a democracy.

6. I heard David Boies talking about this last week |
|
He said it was a longstanding practice -- asking questions, searching for literature, making phone calls, asking for ID -- anything to delay the process and discourage other people in line.
No doubt the Republicans have studied this subject and have multiple objections and stategies. Heck, I wouldn't put it past them if every challenger is a slow talker or stutterer who has to use the bathroom every 15 minutes.

8. Not under Ohio law they can't. |
|
Ohio law allows them to challenge each and every voter who wants to vote.
They can be removed for harassing voters, but not for challenging them.

9. Letter to poll worker from the Franklin County B of E |
|
As a poll worker I received a letter today that says in part "If at any point you believe that a Challenger or Witness is no longer acting in good faith, is intentionally slowing down the voting process, or is keeping you or the other Precinct Election Officials from doing their job in a In the past we have called the cops when we have had people interfering with the voting process and I am prepared to do it again. I am even bringing my own cell phone as the one they give us has never worked in the past.
