Just voted in my very Republican neighborhood in Jersey
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 07:14 AM by bklyncowgirl
No lines. Someone coming out of the polling place gave me a thumbs up as I was getting out of my car which is well plastered with Kerry and anti Bush stickers.

Saw a kid in a black hoodie and just one Bush sticker in the lot. Guy didn't look happy.

Just a snapshot but this could be good.

4. Interesting!
I've been wondering how it looks at very Republican precincts. The one I vote in is extremely red also. I'm going about 9:00, and I'll report back in.

5. I voted early Thursday in Republican county (Lee) in Florida.
Similar story: no waiting in lines to vote. Meanwhile, Democratic counties reported long lines of voters, up to four hours wait. My conclusion is that we Democrats are far more motivated to vote than most Republicans are. They may be paying lip service to Bush in the polls, but they don't seem to be actually voting for him in high numbers. This could be a blow-out election for Kerry IMHO!

6. Also just voted in NJ
No Line. Other than myself, no declarations of support on car bumpers.

This is a heavy republican district so I'm glad there was no line.

7. Jersey city here
Turnout was very strong here in Jersey City on the waterfront.. lot of young people.. about 120-150 people in line at 7:30 by my count... maybe an hour to two hour wait?... not usually a precinct with good turnout.. should be very strongly Dem.. lot of NYC transplants

8. Heavy turnout in this Republican district
I vote in a rural PA heavily Republican district. There was a MUCH higher turnout than usual. A neighbor was in line behind me telling me how he hoped his sons at college didn't get to vote because he knew they'd vote for Kerry.

10. Another NJ voter here (Morris County)
I went around 10am so I didn't expect to see too many people. As I expected there was a local cop patrolling around the voting area.

I have a feeling there will be a huge turnout here, I didn't have to wait in line but when I was leaving about 10 more people were going in and there were a few cars pulling into the parking lot.
