Long lines in Arizona
Gilbert (near Phoenix)
Got to the polls at 5:30, already a pretty sizable line. By the time we left it was MUCH longer. MoveON was setting up, and everyone seemed so happy that they were going to get to vote. Talked to a guy behind us that I gathered was a Kerry voter.
I wasn't expecting too much going on here in Arizona, now that we aren't considered a battleground. I'm glad moveon was here.
The lines will be enormous at 8:00.

1. That is so good to hear!
I voted early in Scottsdale on Friday, the line was two hours long at City Hall. I tried to vote near my work downtown, but there wasn't a single parking place to be found! Fortunately I had my VBM ballot filled out.

I still think we might go blue.

Think blue, think blue, think blue...

4. Greetings from Scottsdale!
Thanks for the report, b/c I voted early, so I haven't been out to see the polling places yet. I've actually seen several Kerry/Edwards stickers on vehicles in North Scottsdale, of all places, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Can you imagine if Arizona turned blue, as it did for Clinton in 1992?

In the words of Charlie Brown...."I can't stand it!" :)

5. I;m actually in North Phoenix, but I thought I'd head that way to
vote since my mom lives near City Hall. I figured I owed her a visit since I was born and raised a die-hard yellow dog!

I work at Burton Barr Library, and tried to vote downtown, but a parking place was simply not to be found!

2. Voted early
Dropped my ballot off in Green Valley (south of Tucson) last week. Haven't been out this AM yet to see what kind of lines there are.

3. Interesting; MoveOn in GILBERT?
Dems are having trouble finding poll monitors, either MoveOn had plenty of volunteers or they are expecting a spot of trouble.

What's your take on that?

6. I doubt trouble...
But possibly long lines? MoveOn was handing out donuts and bagels to the people heading in to vote. I was very surprised too... I thought my area was HEAVILY republican.
