The lines are long out here in stow,OH. I am working for MoveOn and we are tracking our contacts....saw a few. Repugs are distributing literature (hate?) to all who want it. GOTV all day.

Traffic jams as people try to get into their polling places, but are stuck in line just for parking.
Mood was actually lighthearted & almost jovial even though many of us waited in line for 30-40 mins before the doors even opened.
We had no trouble with challengers or anything like that, but I live in a heavy retiree section of the county, so I hadn't anticipated any trouble like that.
My old neighborhood in south St. Pete? I'll bet it is a nightmare already... *shudder* Shoot, we had trouble there in 2000, can just imagine how bad it will be this year.

I got to the polls about 10 minutes after they opened. There were 8 people in line and about 8-10 people voting when I got there, but was told the line was to the door when the polls opened. Two people registered at the poll while I was there. People were showing their ID which isn't supposed to be required. I had mine along, but wasn't asked to show it. Folks were upbeat but serious. Couldn't tell how folks were voting. Mostly older people, but that is the precinct I'm in. And I FINALLY got my "I voted" avatar.

5. local WI news shows long lines and polls aren't open yet!! |

Here in Wisconsin they showed long lines- I think this is only good for Kerry!!
We had moveon.org stop by last night- canvassing to make sure we knew where to vote and had a way to get there. And we are a very mixed race/working class neighborhood. They said they would be at the polls with coffee/cookies/donuts helping folks out.

We have vote-by-mail, so we have had 61% turnout already as of early Monday!
There are ballot drops everywhere, and many voters wait until Election Day to turn them in.
Sec of State here predicts 84% voter turnout!

Texas Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
Lines at 7 a.m. were VERY long. I had to wait an hour to get inside the building.
There are 1675 registered voters in Texas Township. By 7:45 478 had voted. Average total turnout for voting day is usually 413. If this is any indication, a HUGE portion of the electorate is going to turn out.
HOWEVER, here's my caveat--Texas Township is 95% republican. I hope this isn't a reflection of the rest of the electorate everywhere else!
