Crying at the drop of a hat. Anyone else?
Yesterday and today... just the smallest things... seeing John Kerry speak, hearing comments about him from Springsteen, Buffet, listening to people voice their opinions, reading posts here, reading about Edwards... listening to our pastor on Sunday tell people to vote, and then telling them about freedom and why you don't just destroy a country, say "now you're free," and say mission accomplished... looking at John Kerry pics from yesterday's long post, putting on my Kerry/Edwards t-shirt and getting thumbs up from a parent at my child's school... just seeing John Kerry signs.

I'm a mess today. Just thinking about marking my ballot makes me weep.

21. She was good, wasn't she?
After she finished, I turned to my wife and said, "It will be nice to have a First Lady that I don't feel sorry for."

5. I'm looking forward to
plenty of tears of joy from all of those who have endured this long, dark night. Let's believe that this country we love so much can make us proud today and in the future.

10. I am very emotional today.
But that is good. It is an important and historic day. I am glad that I am involved and connected. The ones I worry about are the ones going about their business like it is just another Tuesday.

11. I think a lot of people are emotionally drained

I wasn't fully embroiled in the 2000 controversy, but ever since * got into office I have been obsessed with getting him out.

John Kerry was my guy from the start. I felt like he was the best guy for these times. It has been a horrible 4 years and its all coming to head today.

I have yet to vote, and I know my 1 vote may not mean a lot in Virginia (though polls are close), but I am very nervous as I prepare to head down to the polling station. I don't know why I'm nervous. I am very well prepared with ID and Reg Card, I know no one will screw with me or they may not like the results...its just the process. The actual process of being able to validate your committment to a man you have worked so hard to elect.

No more arguments, debates, fights, no more convincing people to vote for Kerry...It's all you and him now. Make it count.

27. Yup, me too.
For about a week now.

It started when I voted for John Kerry. I just stood there and cried. Had to compose myself before I could leave the booth. They probably thought I was one of those undecideds and that's why it was taking so long. :)

I feel a little silly, but I just get overcome by the emotion of it all sometimes. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.

28. Emotions and Ham Sandwiches
I'm your basic tough guy sort. Brusque, outspoken, doesn't suffer fools well, but also an emotional sort. (Yeah, I cried at the end of the movie. So what? It bothers you? Tough shit, jerkwad.)

Anyway, we're all pretty damned heavily invested in this election. My wife has seen more than a few sleepless nights. I'm reduced to about 3-4 hours a night myself. My work has taken a back seat to election related activities.

Some of us cry, some of us laugh, some of us sleep, some of us don't.

Yeah, its tough on our emotions. But look at the other side. That emotion you feel? Others feel it too. And they're acting on it. Its proof we're right and they're not.

Just remember, as a wise 4 year old once told me ..... "You can't fight city hall with a ham sandwich."
