Something's happenin' here. |
|
Can you feel it? The emotion, the quiet rage, the determination to change our country.
America is a nation of caring people. We have fought for what is right when it came down to it. We are not perfect by any means but we tend to learn from our mistakes and adjust our behavior accordingly.
This country has had enough of Bush and his attempt to hijack the Constitution. Enough of the conservative slander and vitriole against decent Americans who happen to disagree with them politically. Enough of the right wing radio propogandist defining us and lying about the failures of this administration. Enough of the insults and threats and subversion of our Democratic rights.
You are seeing a reckoning today. A tidal wave of people who have had enough. This could be the beginning of a core change in America, a righting of wrongs and a re-alignment of our national ethics.
Take part and take pride in our accomplishments DU. You have helped to facilitate this change. Go out and vote, take back our Democracy. Sit back and rest tonight and watch as the American people, once again, rise to challenge a threat to our national goodness.
Tonight we win.
Tomorrow we begin fighting anew. Fresh and revitalized by our victory and determined and inspired by our power to begin again. To help America live up to her promise.
May your God bless each and every one of you who have contributed to this fight.
KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE, BABY!!!!!

If they can't see that a change is needed, that Kerry will right what is wrong with this Country, then I am sad for them. At least they won't spend 4 years in hell like we have been forced endure. Instead of going to bed sad, they should rest easy. America is going to be a better place with Kerry as President.

People aren't turning out in record numbers because they're happy with the status quo.

the way you have this election going ,would be the happy ending .Not for Democrats only ,for the entire country. It would be the good guys win ending that we all want to see. Those who have been fooled into believing bush ,will come aorund once they see what a improvement Kerry is compared to bush when it comes to doing the hard hard work of President !

9. The Key...Tomorrow New Battles Begin |
|
This is a big first step, but there's so far we need to go to recast the tone of this nation into one of tolerance and true civil rights. Here's hoping this election is just the start and places like DU and others will be agents of positive change.
We've come such a long way...and so much more to go...lots of dreams from MLK, RFK and others to realize. At least we're on our way.
Cheers to all!

10. Remember those anti-war marches? |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 09:57 AM by DulceDecorum
Well, there were THOUSANDS MORE who did not march. Also cops and medical workers remained on the job in case they were needed. They did not actively participate.
TODAY is the day for MASS DEMONSTRATIONS EVERYWHERE. TODAY IS THE DAY TO SPEAK OUT. And there are a HECK lot more of us than there EVER will be of them.
