1. Dennis Hastert may lose today, too. |
|
Its not a prediction I am totally confident about, but I think there is a good chance that Rubin Zamora may be our next Congresscritter!

gawd, how could anyone vote for hastert over that guy?
I will say it again - if our future is Zamora, Obama, Granholm, Edwards, and Landreau, and theirs is Hart, Hayworth, and Thune, it should be a good next generation for us.

10. Rubin's Done Very Well |
|
This might not be his time, but I'm very impressed with how well his campaign has done with virtually no resources. Here's hoping the organization in Kane County keeps moving along and if there's not a surprise tonight, we'll sure work for it in 2006.
Greetings from the 8th District...big day here; hopefully the one we give Phil Crane the retirement he so deserves.
I'm hoping after Crane's history, we have Hyde (he'll probably retire) and Hastert to clean up and to hold onto these districts and make Illinois even more Blue.
Cheers!

No line at precinct 13 here in Elgin. Of course, we have the punch cards still.
Never a problem with those as long as you follow Illinois recount rules!!!

12. when the Keyes votes are tallied |

we'll have a fair idea of how many Illinoisans would vote for David Duke if he were on the ballot with a (R) next to his name.

More Illinois Republicans would vote for David Duke... The ones who cannot imagine voting for a non-White.

Part of it has to be the turnout for Obama, but still...

15. Huge turnout downstate |
|
usually equals more votes for Keyes. Although Illinois goes Democrat, it's because of Cook County. DuPage County just west of Chicago and downstate is loaded with repukes. Can't figure out DuPage County. It's filled with wanna be rich people who purchase homes and cars they can't afford, but they keep voting repuke because they wanna be identified with the upper crust.

16. Kinda depends on what part of downstate, really. |

Some parts are very red, some are very blue, but most of it is some shade of purple.

Great turnout at 7:15 AM. The election judges were really excited with the turnout. Told me this was the biggest turnout they'd ever seen! Pretty much a Republican area but saw a lot of Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.
