I am so fucking scared right now. Yesterday a wave of calm came over me and I thought I was going to get through it OK... but today, I feel like I am going to go crazy! It doesn't help that I had to come in to work for some stupid meetings. Help me calm down!!

and say SNAP OUT OF IT!!! It will be okay. Once you've voted, there is nothing more you can do other than volunteer and get others out to vote. Save your energy for what I believe will be a big party.
If I'm wrong, you still need to save your energy because we are taking to the streets. BushCo is not going to oppress us any longer. I just won't have it.
Deep breaths. Positive thoughts. Send positive energy into the universe.

7. Got the mood swings figured out |
|
We've been going up and down like the horsies on a carousel since late last week. In our family one will have that calm feeling and another will be melting down and then we switch. It's because the signs are point to Kerry. The thought of being hopeful and then being crushed is too much to bear for some of us, so it engenders panic. Then we internalize the thought of losing and get calmer and then the cycle starts again.
If we were less concerned our money would be on Kerry bigtime. But we are concerned. Concerned, obsessed, and the consequences of anything less than victory seem unthinkable. We'll get through it, but it's not a whole lot of fun.

I think the last poster summed it up pretty well. I am confident but I can't bear the thought of losing... thus panic!

I didn't get to sleep til 4 am, and even then, I did not sleep well. I'm a wreck. Even after being totally involved for the last 2 years, I'm still freaked out this will get stolen.
I'm going from extreme highs to sitting on the couch rocking back and forth, drooling and watching tv which makes me even more insane.
Thank god for hip hop voters. That's what's keeping my head on straight right now.

13. I know what you mean. I was fine yesterday. But with |
|
all the dirty tricks coming out I am having a sinking feeling like the one I had in 2000. I hate that feeling. I do not intend to watch television at all today. I am sure the "pundits" will be having a field day promoting the Shrub. I even hate the sound of his name.

Liberals and moderates outnumber wingnuts in this country.
If more people vote, it's more likely that the wingnuts lose.
This may be an reversal of 1994, with a new president and maybe a new congress.
Pray. Visualize Kerry winning. Peace!!

17. I completely understand how you feel ... |
|
I'm at my school, on the other side of the world (London). I've been on the computer for 4 hours and I'm sure I'll be here until they kick me out tonight (at which time I plan to go to the Hard Rock b/c they're staying open all night and having the results on TV.)
I feel so isolated and useless over here. I voted before I left (obviously) a month ago and before that I donated as much time and money I could spare to the campaign ... but I'm still thinking there is so much more I could have done, and how selfish it was of me to leave my country at such an important time.
Also, I'll admit I'm scared as hell to be so far from home if * takes this one ... I've already experienced more then my fair share of anti-american sentiment and I can only imagine how bad that could get.

I've been working 2 years, and still I feel like I haven't done enough.
It must be so hard to be over there, feeling isolated from us. But at least you can come here. And you have done enough. we all have. Shit, we're part of DU. Hang in there, pal. You can come here 24/7 and still be connected.

1) Vote. Have you voted?
2) Call your local Dem headquarters and ask if you can help out this afternoon. They'll probably be happy to have you and you'll be making a difference instead of feeling helpless.
3) If the Dems can't find something for you to do, do something on your own. Grab a Kerry sign and/or print out some literature and go to a nearby polling place to great voters.
Come on now, don't sit and fret. Help John Kerry.

Too bad you weren't called back, but that's not the end of the road. Taken an hour to go great voters at a polling place. Mobilize and show your support for Kerry.

I'm on edge right now with that butterflies in the pit of your stomach feeling. It doesn't help that I live in Bush country at the moment and can't get an accurate feel of the momentum. Ah, to be a swing stater today.
