Reported: 1.5 hour line at 6:45 in Mecklenburg County (NC) this AM |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 09:33 AM by southpaw4kerry
I voted early last week but my husband, who usually doesn't leave for work until 8AM got up at 5:15AM to vote today. He got there as close to opening as he could but the line was wrapped around the block. Said people were showing up to vote in the 5AM range, to get early spots in line.
His only concern is that he saw a lot of cars drive up, see the line and then pull off. He hopes they come back later.

Well howdy neighbor! We live practically on the border of York. I know what you mean by rural precinct. Nice Food Lion out there though. :) I shop in SC, prices are better.
Here's to blue! :toast:

Just returned from voting in Rock Hill. I only had to wait about twenty minutes, if that. While I was in line people were glaring at me. Then a precinct worker came over to me to tell me that I had to remove my "Veterans for Kerry" button. Can you believe that?!? In all of my years of voting in SC I have seen people wearing buttons and such for specific candidates, but this time I was told to remove mine. That really ticks me off! Anyway, one more vote for Kerry.

We made all our friends who didn't early vote PROMISE that they would vote no matter what today. Also recommended that they bring water, snacks, a book and whatever else they might need to be comfortable during the wait.
