IDEA RE: LINES WITH HEAVY VOTER "CHALLENGES" I.E. OHIO
This would require dedicated folks with time on their hands and a little bit of acting ability.

The suggestion is, if you've got a situation where GOP Partisans are hassling large numbers of voters, like we suspect they're going to do in Ohio-- get in line like you're going to vote, then when you get near the front and close to where the challenges are taking place, make a decent sized stink about how outraged you are that this blatant suppression is taking place, and storm off, saying something like "I WAS going to vote for President Bush, but I'm so totally disgusted with my party's behavior-- trying to stomp all over democracy-- that I'm just going home."..."You know what, I feel the same way".. ..etc. If it looks totally spontaneous, that's ideal.

In theory, this could have 3 effects: It could demoralize the GOP goons doing the challenges, it would call attention to what they're doing, and it would make the other folks in line feel like the line is getting "shorter" because you left.

Hey, it's just an idea. Obviously if it's not legal you shouldn't do it, but I wouldn't think it isn't.

1. Say, "I'm changing my vote to Kerry!"
If you stomp off, others might from the wrong party. The only problem is, you'd have to stay in line. But then when your name isn't on the list, scream voter suppression!

3. Well, the idea behind stomping off would be to make it clear
that you're doing it out of outrage with the Republicans' tactics.

Obviously you don't want to encourage a "ahh, fuck it" en masse thing.

Since they are keeping the media from reporting on the suppression tactics, there needs to be ways to make people aware of what's going on....

4. Anyone know how many polling places they're pulling this in?

And how significant the impact looks?
