My Mom is a .... KERRY REPUBLICAN!

I just got off the phone with my Mom, who lives in St. Louis. She's a been a Republican voter since Reagan, largely because of the abortion issue (she's a devout Catholic.)

Well she told me she just cast a vote for John F. Kerry. Why? She's greatly disturbed about losing the support of our allies under *. She said, "if we think we can fight terrorism and be a force for good in the world without our allies, we're in for terrible problems." That trumped her other disagreements with Kerry.

She also cast it as a protest vote against the Catholic Bishop in St. Louis who has been telling Catholics not to vote for Kerry. She thinks it a very troubling precedent that Church leaders are trying to have an impact on the vote.

Oh, and she just finally decided over the weekend - along with millions of other undecideds.

Hearing that energized the hell out of me!
